The municipality presents the campaign "Agents of Change. Gender Equality 2025" to commemorate Women's Day

 

Through it, the municipality will host numerous activities and events to commemorate the 8M

 

The City Council of Santiago del Teide organises a new edition of the campaign "a Change. Gender Equality 2025", which integrates within its programming various events and activities that will be developed on the occasion of the commemoration of International Women's Day, which is celebrated every March 8.

 

Thus, through the aforementioned initiative, the consistory intends to commemorate women's rights, the vindication of the struggle for gender equality, as well as the important role of women in history and our society.

 

In this sense, the programming will begin next Wednesday, March 5, with the exhibition "Women and Literature", which will be available in the municipal libraries until March 28 and in which notes on the broad contribution of women to literature are collected, offering a vision of the life and literary work of several authors.

 

On Friday, March 7, from 11:30 a.m., the students of IES Serafín Pardo will enjoy the flamenco-theatre show "Las 13 rosas", by the Estíbaliz Producciones company, at the Tamaimo Social Centre. It will not be until 7:00 p.m. when the Tamaimo Social Centre will host the theatrical show "Cocinando recuerdos", which will be carried out by the theatre group of seniors of the municipality and which is aimed at the general public.

 

On Saturday, March 8 -Women's Day-, from 12:00H., the celebration of the V edition of the "Concepción García Suárez" Awards will take place at the Landmar Costa Los Gigantes Hotel. At the end of it, the development of the charity lunch on the occasion of Women's Day will be carried out in the aforementioned hotel, organised by the Lions Club, in collaboration with the consistory, and whose entrance will cost 15 euros, which will be destined for charitable purposes by the aforementioned non-profit entity.

 

On Monday, March 10, for its part, the period of sending the works of the Podcast Contest "Mujer tenías que ser" will open, whose deadline will end on the 31st of the aforementioned month.

 

As for Tuesday, March 11, from 7:00 p.m., the Library of Puerto de Santiago will host the poetry recital "Verses of a woman", which will feature brief brushstrokes on the biography of different poets, as well as the recital of some of her poems; an activity that will also be hosted by the Library of Santiago del Teide, on Wednesday, March 12, from 7:00 p.m.

 

Finally, on Friday, March 14, starting at 5:00 p.m., the Las Eras de Arguayo Park will host the theatrical show "Valientes", which will be staged by the Burka Theatre company.
