The Mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, recently held a meeting in the municipal plenary hall, with the First Vice President and Councilor for Roads and Mobility of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Enrique Arriaga, which was also attended by the Island Director of Mobility , José Alberto León, the insular director of Roads, Tomás García and different members of the government group and in which different improvement proposals for the municipality of Santiago del Teide were discussed in the same way that places of interest were visited for future actions .
Among the topics that were addressed was, including a visit, the possibility of carrying out the tunnel project on the La Vetita road in Tamaimo, which had an assigned budget and which would mean considerably reducing the dangerousness of the road, above all, in times of rain since it is an old municipal claim.
Another topic of interest that was addressed and visited was the entrance to the tourist area of Santiago del Teide, specifically, at the roundabout of La Cruz de Santiago, whose project is of vital importance to improve the landscape image of This area through which countless neighbors, tourists and visitors pass daily and which presents a bad image of entry to our tourist center.
Another problem that was put on the table was the issue of mobility in the town of Arguayo, which during the weekends and on holidays does not have bus service and that is a problem that has not been given solution for years and that supposes a disorder for the neighbors of that place and for those who want to access said place.
The resurfacing of the highway from Puerto de Santiago to Tamaimo, the construction of viewpoints in our area and the construction of the future Cultural Center in Santiago del Teide for which the Cabildo has already contributed 90% of the budget were, others, among the topics that were discussed at that meeting.
