The City Council awards the drafting of the basic and execution project for the conditioning and improvement of the Puerto de Santiago coastline
It will act on the beach of Puerto de Santiago, Charco Los Chochos, natural pool of Isla Cangrejo, the area of Las Bajas and its surroundings
The City Council of Santiago del Teide has recently awarded the company LC30 Consultores the basic and execution project for the conditioning and improvement of the Puerto de Santiago coastline, its scope of action being the beach of Puerto de Santiago, the Los Chochos puddle, the Isla Cangrejo natural pool, the Las Bajas area and its surroundings.
The estimated value of the contract including the IGIC amounts to €54,350.10, including the IGIC, with a drafting period of 6 months from the moment of signature between the City Council and the successful bidder.
The basic and execution project that is intended to be drafted will include the area of the Puerto Santiago beach and the area of the Los Chochos pool, natural pool (Isla Cangrejo), the Las Bajas area and its surroundings, located in the center of Puerto Santiago. This project will house these areas as a whole, which will be developed in different phases. In this way, Phase 1 would be the area of the Puerto Santiago beach, Phase 2 would correspond to the Los Chochos puddle and its surroundings, Phase 3 would be the area of the natural pool (Isla Cangrejo) and Phase 4 would correspond to to the area of Las Bajas and its surroundings.
In Phase 1, it is intended to connect the Paseo de La Hondura with the pedestrian section of the Puerto Santiago beach, executing a terraced landscape treatment of the existing natural slope on the beach of said locality. In addition, it is intended to pedestrianize the final section of the Agustín León road until reaching La Sirena street and connect the existing Agustín León square with the beach car park, through a path to be developed on the natural slope itself.
In Phase 2, the hanging sanitation network will be conditioned and/or replaced on the slope of the natural land, integrating it with the natural environment and installing a walkway that runs over the sanitation network as well as connecting the beach with the puddle of Los Chochos and their surroundings.
In Phase 3, the road that gives access to the entrance of the natural pool and the accessibility to the natural pool will be adapted, as well as establishing solarium areas with easily removable materials and elements.
In Phase 4, it will be conditioned from the access path to the different bathing points and platforms will be created that favor access to the bathroom from the access path and access from the different bathing points and solariums will also be created.
The purpose of the project is to design a competitive solution that meets the standards of tourism quality and sustainability, thus increasing the competitiveness and tourist appeal of Puerto Santiago.
The scope of action represents an area of approximately 7,053.75m², and includes environmental and landscape rehabilitation and improvement of the accessibility of this coastal area to convert it into a green lung for the area.
