The City Council of Santiago del Teide has recently paid nearly €100,000 by bank transfer to the 224 students of the municipality who were approved for aid to cooperate in defraying the costs of transport and renting housing outside their home to whom They are doing post-compulsory studies, Baccalaureate, Intermediate and Higher Level Training Cycles and University Studies.

In this sense, the City Council allocated an economic item of €40,000 in the case of rental aid and €60,000 in the case of transport aid.

The maximum amounts of aid that have been delivered these days were €380 per student for housing or residence rental costs (given the large number of applications) and €250 for transportation costs; Therefore, each university student has had, between the two, an aid of €630 for the payment of rent and for transport costs.

Apart from the granting of these aids, the students who carry out their studies outside the municipality have also received different subsidies based on other teachings that they are carrying out and in which aids for students with functional diversity have also been included, all of them oscillating between €70 minimum and €250 maximum.

Emilio Navarro points out that "we are aware of the effort that both families and students make to be able to study outside the municipality. For this reason, every year we try, whenever circumstances allow, to improve the budget item for these transportation and rental aids so that it reaches more students, betting in this way in a clear way for the training of our students".
