The City Council of Santiago del Teide reports on the next asphalting of the TF-454 road, known as the "Ascent to Tamaimo"

This work will have an investment of 2.3 million euros

From the Santiago City Council we communicate that, recently, the contracting file and the specifications for the execution of the superficial rehabilitation works of the firm of the TF-454 island road, which connects the urban centres of Tamaimo and Los Gigantes, have been approved. This intervention, which will be carried out by the Cabildo de Tenerife, responds to the need to improve the conditions of a road that, due to the deterioration of its pavement, has seen its safety and functionality compromised.

The TF-454 currently has a very deteriorated firm, with cracks, bare repairs and temporary repairs that affect both durability and road safety. These pathologies not only compromise the quality of the road, but also represent a risk to the safety of drivers, increasing the possibility of accidents. Therefore, the rehabilitation of this road is a priority to ensure safe and comfortable circulation.

The works have a total investment of 2,300,000 euros, distributed between 2024 and 2025. Of this amount, 80,000 euros will be allocated in 2024 to the bidding phase and start of the works, while the rest of the budget will allow the development and completion of the intervention in 2025. This investment is a clear commitment to the improvement of the infrastructures of the municipality and to the safety of its inhabitants and visitors.

The rehabilitation project will cover all 6,658 metres of the road, starting from the intersection with the TF-82 in Tamaimo to the access intersection to Los Gigantes on Avenida 5º Centenario. The main objective of this action is to restore and improve the surface characteristics of the pavement, adapting it to the functional and durability needs without a significant increase in the resistant capacity of the firm.
