The I Gastronomic Day of Landmar Hotels brings together the best chefs of Santiago del Teide

 

Lucas Maes, from Aqua, Rocío Miralles, from La Quinta, and the team of chefs at the Pejeverde restaurant will be in charge of designing the menu

 

Landmar Playa La Arena will host this coming Saturday, March 9, the "I Gastronomic Day, Flavours of Santiago del Teide", an event that will bring together the best local chefs to value the Canarian product and the first-class cuisine in this area of the island and that has the collaboration of the Santiago del Teide City Council.

 

In the newly opened Macaronesia Food Truck space, chefs Lucas Maes, from the Aqua restaurant, Rocío Miralles, from La Quinta, and the kitchen team of the Pejeverde restaurant, composed of Ginés Afonso, Abraham González and Moisés Afonso, will prepare a complete menu that will be paired with Canarian wines for attendees.

 

The culinary offer will be completed by Silvia Fernández, Executive Chef of Landmar Playa La Arena, who will prepare the starters, and Juan González, Pastry Chef of the Landmar Costa Los Gigantes hotel, who will take care of the dessert.

 

In showcooking format, the chefs will lead a first-class gastronomic experience in a space with incomparable views and designed for enjoyment.

 

For their part, attendees will be able to enjoy a menu that will begin with a trio of appetisers that includes Vichyssoise of coconut, shrimp and red curry, almogrote gomero with red wine cheese and mini salmon crepe with mango cream. As a first tapa, Pejeverde will offer fish of the day ceviche with yellow chilli tiger milk, red onion, cilantro, papaya and passion fruit.

 

At the halfway point of the day, the old tuna clothes prepared by chef Rocío Miralles will take center stage, and Lucas Maes' culinary art closes the round of tapas; black Canarian pig cooked at 72 degrees, honeyed cheese rice, tropical pineapple chutney, roasted lime mayonnaise and its purple onion pickle is his proposal. The sweet touch will be put by a delicious mango garden with yoghurt cream and almond crumble.

 

The event will be paired with Canarian wines: Barlia rosé, from Santiago del Teide, Viña Zanata blanco, from La Guancha, and the young red variety, from Bodegas Viñátigo.

 

The appointment will begin at 1:30 p.m. and Mayor Emilio Navarro and different members of the government group are expected to participate.
