The festivities begin in honor of Nuestra Señora del Carmen in Puerto de Santiago, which this year 2022, after two years of hiatus, will have a large number of events and acts during the days of its celebration.
They will start this Thursday, July 7, when the Proclamation Act will take place in the Parroquia de Ntra. Sra. del Carmen, starting at 8:00 p.m. Music of Santiago del Teide.
On Friday, July 8, at 06:00 a.m. there will be the Salvo in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, and Diana Floreada in charge of the Santiago del Teide Fanfare. That same day at night, the municipality will host the Mister Internacional Tenerife Gala, starting at 9:30 p.m., followed by the group The Boys Machine and guest DJs.
Sport is also included in the program, since on Saturday, July 9, starting at 6:00 p.m., the XXV Edition of the Crossing to Swim from Playa la Arena to Puerto de Santiago will be held. And that same night, the youth of the municipality have an appointment starting at 9:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago, with the Santiago del Teide Youth Concert, with star performances such as Lérica, Sara Socas and Nía Correia.
The Miss World Tenerife Gala will take place on Sunday, July 10, at 9:30 p.m., in the Plaza Pública de Puerto de Santiago.
We continue with the events and activities because this has only just begun. On Monday, July 11, the Children's Choreographic Festival will be held, starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Puerto de Santiago. Next, at 9:30 p.m., will be the open-air Summer Cinema. The following day, Tuesday, July 12, also at 8:00 p.m., the Festival will be held by the Santiago del Teide School of Music, followed by an open-air Summer Cinema.
Starting at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 13, there will be a children's Playground for the smallest of the municipality. That same day, at 9:00 p.m., the Grand Gala for the Election of the Children's Queen of the Holidays will be held, with the participation of the Komba Producciones show. Then there will be a Verbena by the Maraury Orchestra.
We continue with the activities on Thursday, July 14, which will begin with a special radio program from the Plaza Pública de Puerto de Santiago starting at 10:00. At night, the Grand Gala for the Election of the Queen of the Festivities will be held, with performances by Volatikas, humor by Jorge Bolaños and the star performance of Tuto Durán. Presented by Tina León and Wendy Fuentes. Next, the Great Young Night will be held, by DJ's Ray Castellano and local DJ's.
Already in the final stretch of these festivities, on Friday, July 15, the day will begin with inflatable water castles for the children of the municipality and the Foam Party. At night, we will have Carlos Baute in concert, starting at 10:00 p.m., followed by the Gran Merengazo with the participation of Grupo La Calle, Orquesta Sabrosa and Orquesta Maquinaria Band.
The Day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, July 16, will begin with the ringing of bells and the opening of the temple, which will remain open all day to visit the Virgin, starting at 10:00 a.m. At 12:00 noon there will be the Act of imposition of the scapular for all the faithful and all the faithful in the Parish of Our Lady of Carmen. At night, at 9:40 p.m., the image of Our Lady of Carmen will be released in procession, accompanied by Civil and Religious authorities, the Festival Commission, Queens and Courts in her honor, as well as the Municipal Band. of music. Upon arrival at the dock, it will be the Holy Mass officiated by D. Omar Martín Vargas and sung by the Abruncos Musical Group. At the end, the image will be transferred to the wall where the skies will light up again in honor of Our Virgin of Carmen, with a Great Pyrotechnic Display by the Toste Brothers of the Realejos. Next, it will be the verbena in charge of the Tropin and Generación Orchestras.
To end the festivities, on Sunday, July 17, the Holy Mass will be celebrated in honor of Our Lady of Carmen, officiated by the parish priest D. Omar Martín Vargas and sung by the Canna group. Then, procession along the usual route accompanied by the Herreños de San Andrés Dancers. Upon arrival, musical offering and traditional boarding of the image of Our Lady of Carmen that will tour the neighboring towns of Los Gigantes, Alcalá Fonsalía, Playa de San Juan and Playa de la Arena.
