Mayor and CEO of Gesplan sign the order for the conditioning work of the Camino de las Cuevas
These refurbishment works will allow the path to be connected to the Teide National Park in the amount of € 79.998.55
The City Council of Santiago del Teide has entrusted the company Gesplan with the execution of the development project of the old Camino de las Cuevitas or Volcano de la Botija - Route of the volcanos of Santiago del Teide.
It is a path that will give continuity to the network of trails of the municipality and connects it with the Teide National Park and for this it will be done, among other actions, cleaning and clearing, boxing and bordering of the path, signalling and repair of masonry and cobblestones, an order that has been formalised by rubric by the mayor, Emilio Navarro and the managing director of the society of Territorial and Environmental Management and Planning (Gesplan), Miguel Ángel Pérez Hernández and in which the Councillor for the Environment, Luz Goretti Gorrín, was present.
The works will be extended for six months and will cost €79.998.55.
Details of the project
To facilitate the understanding of it, the trail will be differentiated into different sections.
*Section 1- Connection path with path N.º 13 P.N.
Work will be carried out to clean and clear the path, removal of roads and roads outside the main path, the dismantling of stone tombs and the removal of paint marks, delimitation of the path with the execution of the road box, rest points, as well as horizontal and vertical signage typical of the paths.
* Section 2 - Las Cuevas Mountain Road.
Removal of weeds, logs, remains of spills or debris, and loose materials, dismantling of stone túmulos and erasing of paint marks, delimitation of the path by profiling the terrain with manual techniques - sachos or guatacas, consolidation of existing walls on the edge of the path, arrangement of domes executed with stones in the areas of the path crossed by runoffs, as well as rest and signalling points.
*Section 3 - Abeque dorsal path
Removal of gravel and loose elements, especially in the areas with the highest slope, roads and roads outside the path will be eliminated, delimiting the edge of the path with the placement of stones arranged in a row or fallen logs, repair of existing steps to overcome the unevenness between the forest track and the last section of the path, arrangement of domes executed with stones in the areas of the path crossed by runoffs, as well as directional posts at the beginning and end of the road with wooden post and phenolic panel slat.
