The Santiago del Teide City Council has put out to tender the award of the contract for the execution of the temporary conditioning project of a municipal plot located on La Palmita de Tamaimo street to enable it as a public parking area with a capacity for 41 spaces.

The estimated value of the contract including IGIC amounts to €75,321.57 for an execution period of 1 month and the presentation of offers, through the Public Sector Contracting Platform, ends on May 27 at 5:00 p.m.

The local council, after a detailed analysis of the lack of parking spaces in the area that causes traffic and mobility problems, has proposed adapting said municipal land to enable it as a temporary outdoor parking area.

In this sense, the future works will consist of the conditioning of said plot for use as a parking lot, by means of grading and paving with bituminous mixture pavement, the organization of the parking spaces and accesses, the installation of the water collection network stormwater and the provision of public lighting.

Emilio Navarro points out that “we are working on providing short-term solutions to mobility and parking problems in the municipality and that is why we will prepare this municipal plot in the center of Tamaimo to respond to said demand. In this sense, we continue working in the longer term on two fundamental projects for mobility in the area of Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago to end the need for parking that our coast has."
