It is a municipal facility close to the Local Police headquarters but which is connected to the town of Puerto de Santiago through a side entrance through the Lajas de Chapín area.

The mayor of Santiago del Teide, Emilio Navarro, recently signed the acceptance certificate for the construction of a skate park in Puerto de Santiago, which involved a municipal investment of €28,787.55. In this signing was also present, the Councilor for Sports Juan Carlos González and municipal technicians.

The new sports infrastructure is located on municipal land adjacent to the Local Police Headquarters but which is connected to the town of Puerto de Santiago and neighboring places through a side entrance through the Lajas de Chapín area.

The main objective of this action has been to create a sports infrastructure, in this case a skateboard track, as a new stimulus to practice healthy sports

aimed at the young people of this municipality and, obviously, at the rest of the general public, which meets the new trends and demands of today's society.

In this sense, sports related to skating are experiencing notable growth in recent years, in fact, citizen complaints are common when skaters practice their sport in public squares and streets, in the midst of passers-by or walkers who fear for their security. For this reason, it was necessary to create a place where users can find structures according to their needs without causing inconvenience to other citizens, and which has adequate characteristics from the point of view of safety and the suitability of the structures.
